Just like they do on piano, guitar, etc. :-)

Using valves, I have three-plus chromatic octaves (I can bend 1B down to
around Bb or A). Just as we bend notes and alter modes for G and D, it is
possible to play any series of notes that lie within the three-plus
octaves of the valved C diatonic.

BTW, before I used valves, I played a lot in 4th position (Am), and a few
tunes in 5th (Em) and 6th (Bm) positions, and even a few in 12th. I'm
quite surprised that 4th position diatonic isn't a LOT more popular. I
like it a lot, and so do my audiences. It's great in the middle and upper
sections, and with a well controlled 3Dbb it's great all the way down the
harp.

Buy the Book!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.

I also write Science Fiction, so you can sample some of my best stories. Also available in Kindle format.

I began collecting data about the microphones used by blue harp players before there was an internet. I began organizing it into JT30.com in the late 1990s. I accumulated more stuff than I remember. This is some of it.
