Subject: Re: Lookin for lessons in the DC/MD Area

Hi Mike: I also live in Silver Spring (In Woodmoo~four Corners we have
the same ZIP Code!). I was in the House of Musical Tradition about a month
ago and saw an ad on their wall for group lessons. I called the guy on the
phone. His first name is Ed and I can't remember his last name. He gives
lessons for $25.00 an hour. The group lessons were cancelled because there
were not enough participants. They were also geared to the very raw
beginner. His phone number is 301 946-9265.

There was also a harp workshop at the Washington Folk Festival this summer.
I came the day after it was held (of course). You may be able to find other
instructors by trying to find out who taught at the workshop.

Now, about me. I have been trying to play harp for about 3 years but only
seriously in the last year. I can bend and play simple songs from the
beginners books. I am also looking for someone I can learn from. Have you
ever thought about teaching a willing student?

Buy the Book!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.

Playing "Help-Me" In the Style of Sonny Boy Williamson II: A step by step, note for note analysis of some of Sonny Boy's Signature Riffs

I also write Science Fiction, so you can sample some of my best stories. Also available in Kindle format.

I began collecting data about the microphones used by blue harp players before there was an internet. I began organizing it into in the late 1990s. I accumulated more stuff than I remember. This is some of it.
