Subject: Bending on the chromatic
I'm looking a bit of help or advice on getting a respectable bent
sound out of my chromatic.
I can get all the draw bends on holes 1-6 on the diatonic quite OK,
but the same technique doesn't seem to work on the chrom (its a
CX-12). On the chromatic, the note quickly chokes off when I try to
I've trawled back a bit in the archives (search for "chromatic" and
"winslow" :-), and came across a Winslow Y post about removing the
windsaver valves from the blow notes on the holes that you want to
get draw bends on (eg. 1,3,5,7).
Has anyone actually done this on a CX-12? (which as BB Bean has
pointed out recently is pretty expensive). I don't want to wreck my
CX 12, but I do want to bend a note.
I'm starting to get a bit tired of calling myself an absolute
beginner on the harp as I've been playing solidly for almost a year.
I'm neither the best nor the worst harp player in the world.
