I am crossposting the to harp-l and blues-l.
Folke time to stop snivelling about John Popper and go out and get the real
deal. Just rereleased recordings of Little Walter one is a two CD set, Chess
Collectibles Vol 3. "Blues With a Feeling." This stuff came out last week
and any blues lover let alone harp player should have this. The stuff on
this collection is HEAVY! Much of it I had never heard because it was only
available on imports. There are some shaky alternate takes that might not be
that great for their musical value, but from the perspective of listening and
understanding the decisions that were being made in the studio while
recording these blues classics is interesting. At this time I can't give you
a complete review (when have I ever given you guys a complete review), but if
the collective membership[ of harp-l and blues -l doesn't start talking about
these releases, I will be very dissapointed.

The other "new" cd release is "Quarter to Twelve" I have it on order and
I'll chastise the collective lists for not rushing out to get it after mine
comes in. I think the discussion of HRM Popper will come to an abrupt halt
when some more folks grab this stuff!

I cleaned up my tab for Sonny Boy's Help Me and made it into a short book. There's a Kindle version for 99 cents, and if you buy the paperback you get the Kindle free.
