George,

CAD is a sister division of Astatic. Astatic makes the CB and Ham type mics
and CAD makes commercial mics. They have the same products with a different
sales force. They CAD HM50 and the JT-30 and the Hohner Blues Blaster are
all made in the same room. They put different labels on them.

The CAD has a gold tone grill.

VC means it has a Volume Control. These mics are not sold without the volume
control anymore.
