No Tuner Cleaner

This directory contains USENET articles Mic has saved about guitars, equipment, pickup, techniques, players, and so on. Lord Valve Admonisheth, AGAIN...
Tuner cleaner is for cleaning tuners. Hopefully, the fact that there
are no currently produced television sets which use mechanical-contact
tuners will encourage the maintenance-chemical manufacturers to stop
making the goddamn stuff. DO NOT put tuner cleaner into your pots.
Silicone-based crud like Blue Shower and Tun-O-Wash will quiet your
pots for about three hours...when the solvent vehicle evaporates out of
the pot, it'll be worse than it was before. Invest in a can of Caig
DN5S-6 and a can of Caig MCL100-2. These two formulations are used by
major studios all over the world, and all of the US military branches;
also by major corporations such as Raytheon, Hewlett-Packard, IBM,
Samsonite, and damn near every audio-equipment manufacturer you'd care
to name. Anyone who tells you to use tuner cleaner for any audio
maintenance procedure is either a rookie or fulla crap.
