Champ line out

This directory contains USENET articles Mic has saved about guitars, equipment, pickup, techniques, players, and so on. Mic has graciously granted permission to post the stuff on the JT30 page on the off chance that it might be useful in the context of Blues Harmonica. Lord Valve Speaketh:
Nah, that circuit is entirely bogus. First off, a Champ needs to
be loaded with 4 ohms, not 8. Second, all that's needed is a
voltage divider...WTF is the cap for? Whether you leave the
speaker connected or load the output with a resistor (4-ohm,
10-watt will be fine) all you need to do is use a 10/1 divider
circuit...put a 1.5K resistor in series with the output, and
use a 150-ohm resistor to ground right after the 1.5K. Output
is taken from the junction of the 1.5K/150-ohm network. If you
want adjustable output, put a 50K pot in parallel with the
divider network and take the output from the wiper.
