Tuesday, August 21, 2007 It looks like one of the programs that has an organic life of its own. It is interesting that I couldn't find a place to download or order the system. If anyone gets a hold of this system, let me know what you think. posted by Keith at 8/21/2007 10:46:00 AM | 0 comments Monday, August 20, 2007 Peavy has a version of the Superlux coming out this September. It seems to have the same grooved shell, but has a on/off switch and a mini-xlr connection. From what I have heard, it has the same sort of element - like the modern green bullet without the guts of an older shure element. If it is like the superlux, it will certainly be a very playable mic. I can't fault the superlux except that it is not as gutsy as the JT-30 or a vintage shure element. The on/off switch looks like it is in a bad place. The volume control would have been good enough for cutting the mic, but Kim Wilson explained to me once that an on/off switch can be more valuable than the volume control if you have to switch from harp to vocals and back again quickly. I like the idea of the rubberized front shell. It prevents harp knocking noises and helps when you cup the mic to kill the highs. I will watch for a Cherry Bomb to taste test on my vintage amps. Here's one I liked. The southern rock version of "Got my Mojo Working" kills.Freddie Vanderford posted by Keith at 8/04/2007 11:52:00 AM | 0 comments Wednesday, August 01, 2007 10 Steps to Becoming a Harmonica God posted by Keith at 8/01/2007 10:13:00 AM | 1 comments |
