Lost Found Art – 9 Deco Period Style Microphones

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Here is an interesting collection of microphones for sale. I see no JT-30, so I could care less. Actually, I have all of the mics, except the cool EV (second from left) and the two GE broadcast mics (which I sold when the prices got too high). Also, most of the mics were in production well into the 1960s.

Lost Found Art – 9 Deco Period Style Microphones: “9 beautiful circa 1930-1950 Art Deco inspired vintage microphones that include such great names as Shure, Astatic and Electro voice.”

The question I have is: Do they work???

A chinese site translated my 12 bar blues page on harptab.com. It’s cool to see my words in chicken tracks all over the screen.

Sonny Boy Video

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2006

There are lots of nice videos on YouTube.com. This one is of Sonny Boy from a video that’s been around around for a while. Sonny Boy (Rice Miller) is playing an 1896 marine band. It’s a full octave lower than a standard C harp. I find it hard to bend the 2 hole in mine, but everything sounds real nice and funky whe you use one.

The second song has Willie Dixon on bass and Sunnyland Slim on piano and I think that’s Robert Jr. Lockwood on guitar.
